Dakṣa.
Dakṣa begot sixteen very beautiful daughters with lotuslike eyes in his wife Prasūti. Of these sixteen daughters, thirteen were given in marriage to Dharma, and one daughter was given to Agni.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Dakṣa begot sixteen daughters with beautiful eyes in his wife Prasūti. He gave thirteen in marriage to Dharma, and one to Agni.
Dakṣa's sixteen daughters had 'lotuslike eyes' — beauty in scripture often signals inner devotion, not just appearance. Don't mistake outer charm for true beauty; cultivate the kind that points to the lotus.
Reflection Questions
  • What beauty am I cultivating in myself — outer or the lotus-eyed inner kind?
  • How do I see beauty in others — by surface or by depth?
