When the Lord’s two nostrils separately manifested themselves, the dual Aśvinī-kumāras entered them in their proper positions, and because of this the living entities can smell the aromas of everything.

Translation
When the nostrils of the universal form (adhibhūta) became differentiated, the presiding deities Aśvinī-kumāras (adhidaiva) entered along with the portion the subtle sense organ the nose (adhyātma). By the nose smell (adhibhūta) appeared.
Yataḥ means from the nose.
Personal Guidance
Smell is possible because the Aśvinī-kumāras entered the Lord's nostrils. Every scent we register is the work of higher beings empowering our nose. This dismantles the idea that the body is self-sufficient hardware.
Reflection Questions
- Do I take even one breath today as a transaction sustained by powers beyond me?
- When a fragrance pleases me, can I trace it back through the chain of demigods to the Lord?
