The demon, who had fearful tusks, stared at the Personality of Godhead as though to burn Him. Springing into the air, he aimed his mace at the Lord, exclaiming at the same time, “You are slain!”

Translation
The demon with terrible fangs, gazing on the Lord, seemed to burn him up with his eyes. “You are dead!” he exclaimed, and struck the Lord with his club.
Saṁcakṣāṇaḥ means “seeing.” “You are dead.” Another meaning is “You are known to me.”
Personal Guidance
The fearful-tusked demon stares to burn the Lord and shouts, 'You are slain!' Demonic confidence is loud and premature. Real victory is rarely announced before it has happened.
Reflection Questions
- Where am I declaring victory in a fight that hasn't even tested me yet?
- How could humility about outcomes reshape how I enter conflicts?
