Translation
Letting out his breath, the angry demon, whose senses were agitated with wrath, quickly approached the Lord and struck him with his club.
Hiraṇyākṣa hisses with all his senses shaken by wrath and strikes the Lord with his mace. The demonic engages the Lord without restraint. Encountering the Lord directly does not always temper — sometimes it inflames — the demonic.
Reflection Questions
  • When the Lord enters a situation I am angrily attached to, does my wrath quiet or escalate?
  • What sense in me is most 'shaken by wrath' when my will is opposed?
