The devastation takes place due to the fire emanating from the mouth of Saṅkarṣaṇa, and thus great sages like Bhṛgu and other inhabitants of Maharloka transport themselves to Janaloka, being distressed by the warmth of the blazing fire which rages through the three worlds below.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
When the three worlds are burned by the powerful fire emanating from Saṅkarṣaṇa’s mouth, the sages headed by Bhṛgu, being pained by the heat, leave Maharloka and go to Janaloka. This verse describes how the three worlds are destroyed.
Devastation comes from fire emerging from Saṅkarṣaṇa's mouth, and the residents of Mahar transport themselves up to Janaloka. Even cosmic burning is a kind of relocation, not annihilation. The wise move higher rather than cling.
Reflection Questions
  • What 'burning' in my current world is really an invitation to move higher?
  • Am I clinging to a Mahar-level position when Janaloka is available?
