Translation
Bṛhaspati, the son of Aṅgirā, seeing Indra falling from the sky in his airplane along with Takṣaka, approached King Janmejaya and spoke to him as follows. Āṅgirasaḥ means the son of Aṅgirā.
Bṛhaspati, seeing Indra falling, approaches Janamejaya to advise restraint. Wise mediators intervene before things become irretrievable. We can ourselves be that quiet advisor for someone heading too far.
Reflection Questions
  • Is there someone in my life I should gently advise to pause before going further?
  • Who might be playing that role for me — and am I listening?
