Translation
When Indra, along with his airplane and Takṣaka, was suddenly thrown from his position by these insulting words of the brāhmaṇas, he became very disturbed.
His mind became disturbed thinking, “Today my life had ended.”
Personal Guidance
Indra, suddenly thrown from his position by the brahmanas' insulting words, becomes very anxious. Even the king of heaven is not safely above public disturbance. Position never fully protects from indignity once the wheel turns.
Reflection Questions
- Which 'position' have I been hoping insulates me from disturbance?
- What inner ground stays steady even when position shakes?
