O best of the Kurus, I have related to you these narrations of the pastimes of Lord Nārāyaṇa, the creator of this world and the ultimate reservoir of all existence, presenting them to you only in brief summary. Even Lord Brahmā himself would be incapable of describing them entirely.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
O best of the Kurus! I have related to you these narrations of the pastimes of Nārāyaṇa, the creator of this world and the abode of all living entities, in a brief summary. Even Lord Brahmā himself is incapable of describing them entirely. Topics of the Lord are summarized.
Even Brahma cannot fully describe Narayana's pastimes; Sukadeva offers only a summary. The Lord's lila exceeds every account. We are not expected to grasp it all — only to keep tasting it sincerely.
Reflection Questions
  • Am I waiting to 'finish learning' before deepening my devotion?
  • What single pastime of the Lord is calling for my attention this week?
