Translation
At that time, the brāhmaṇas of such provinces as Śaurāṣṭra, Avantī, Ābhīra, Śūra, Arbuda and Mālava will become devoid of saṁskāras and the members of the royal order in these places will become almost śūdras.
The brāhmaṇas of these states will be devoid of saṁskāras (vrātyāḥ).
Personal Guidance
Even brāhmaṇas forget their sādhana; even kings live like śūdras. The point is not that birth defines us, but that practice does — when practice dies, even the inheriting class loses its substance. We have to re-choose sādhana daily.
Reflection Questions
- What daily practice keeps me 'twice-born' in spirit rather than only in label?
- Where have I let practice slip and called it 'just being practical'?
