O most eminent hero.
O best of the Kurus, these ten Maurya kings will rule the earth for 137 years of the Kali-yuga.

Although nine kings are mentioned by name, Daśaratha appeared after Sujyeṣṭha, before the rule of Saṅgata, and thus there are ten Maurya kings.

Translation
O best of the Kurus! The ten Maurya kings will rule the earth for 137 years of the Kali-yuga. They will rule 137 years.
Ten kings and 137 years compressed into a single verse — entire human lifespans summed up in numbers. Such compression is the Bhāgavatam's gift: it gives us cosmic perspective so our daily anxieties don't swallow us.
Reflection Questions
  • If my whole life were one sentence in someone else's story, what would I want it to say?
  • What anxiety today shrinks when I take this longer view?
