But one who simply engages in devotional service with no consideration of fruitive results attains Me. Thus whoever worships Me according to the process I have described will ultimately attain pure devotional service unto Me.
Purport
The previous two verses were spoken by the Lord to attract those interested in fruitive results, and now the ultimate purpose of worshiping the Lord is described. The ultimate goal in life is Lord Kṛṣṇa Himself. Love for the Lord is the highest bliss, although ordinary people cannot understand this.

Translation
But one who simply engages in devotional service with no motives at all attains prema, and by prema attains me.
He who worships my deity form without other desires such as jñāna and karma, or he who engages others in worship (pūjayeta) [Note: The verb can be taken as a causative form as well. ] by making them give wealth, land and shops, attains prema (bhakti-yogam), and by prema (bhakti-yogena), he attains me.
Personal Guidance
One who engages in devotional service without considering fruits attains the Lord; whoever worships by this described process ultimately attains pure devotional service. Fruit-free worship has the highest fruit.
Reflection Questions
- Where does fruit-seeking creep into my service?
- What practice removes it?
