Important Words
-
phulla - locanaiḥ
—
with blossoming eyes
Phulla — bloomed. Eyes opening like lotuses in sunlight. The household's eyes mirror Kṛṣṇa's own aravinda-eyes; love is recognised by similarity.
-
sa - sambhramaiḥ
—
in a flurry, with eager confusion
Sambhrama — the fluster of welcoming a beloved guest. Etiquette here permits — even prescribes — beautiful disarray.
-
mukundaḥ
—
Kṛṣṇa, the giver of mukti
Mukunda enters the inner palace. His entrance is itself the household's mukti — release from the long wait.
With wide-open eyes, the members of the royal household came forward in a flurry to lovingly greet Lord Mukunda, and thus the Lord entered the royal palace.

Personal Guidance
The royal household came in a flurry to greet the Lord. When the Lord arrives, there is no decorum that holds us back; loving urgency overrides every other consideration.
Reflection Questions
- Where has my decorum begun to dampen my devotional urgency?
- What 'flurry' of love would I welcome in my own meeting with Kṛṣṇa?
Analogy
The members of the royal household rushing out wide-eyed to greet Mukunda is like the lamps of a temple all leaning toward an open door because the wind has finally arrived from the right quarter — the household reorients to its breath.
