  • rudra-anumoditaḥ — approved by Rudra
Compound: rudra + anumodita (consented). Kṛṣṇa departs only after Rudra's anumodana. Gauḍīyas note the chiasmus with v. 46: Kṛṣṇa anumoded Śiva's vyavasita; Śiva anumodes Kṛṣṇa's departure. Mutual courtesy seals the doctrine.
  • puraḥ-kṛtya — having placed in front
Absolutive of puraḥ-√kṛ (to put forward, give precedence). Aniruddha and Ūṣā ride at the head of the procession. The recovered ones lead; the rescuer follows. Gauḍīyas read this as Bhagavān's signature humility — He recovers His own and then puts them ahead.
  • akṣauhiṇyā parivṛtam — surrounded by an akṣauhiṇī
Compound: akṣauhiṇī + parivṛta (surrounded). The same akṣauhiṇī-count that opened the siege (v. 3-4) now escorts the bride home. Twelve divisions in, one division out, mission complete.
  • su-vāsaḥ samalaṅkṛtam — well-clothed and well-ornamented
Compound: su (good) + vāsas (clothes) + sam-alaṅkṛta (well-decorated). Aniruddha and Ūṣā are dressed for return as a couple, not as prisoners. Gauḍīyas note: Bhagavān's recovery of His own always includes the alaṅkāra — the dignity of the rescued is restored visibly.
At the front of the party Lord Kṛṣṇa then placed Aniruddha and His bride, both beautifully adorned with fine clothes and ornaments, and surrounded them with a full military division. Thus Lord Kṛṣṇa took His leave of Lord Śiva and departed.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
At the front of the party Lord Kṛṣṇa then placed Aniruddha and His bride, both beautifully adorned with fine clothes and ornaments, and surrounded them with a full military division. Thus Lord Kṛṣṇa took His leave of Lord Śiva and departed.
Jīva Gosvāmī Gauḍīya
Commentary

The word sam (with decorations etc.) of the previous verse is here described. Kṛṣṇa put Pradyumna in front with Ūṣā. Śiva was now satisfied since his goal of having Bāṇa’s arms cut off had been fulfilled. Or, having Śiva’s sorrow concerning Bāṇa dissipated, Kṛṣṇa was pleased because Śiva was loyal to him.

Kṛṣṇa placed Aniruddha and His bride at the front of the party, surrounded by a full military division, and took leave of Śiva. After conflict resolves, the Lord still travels with full ceremony and protection — peace does not mean letting down all guard.
Reflection Questions
  • After a recent conflict, am I keeping appropriate structures of care intact?
  • How can ceremony around restored relationships protect what was hard-won?

When the rescue is finished and the prince stands ornamented in front, the master goes home — flanked by his akṣauhiṇī, blessed by the local deity. Kṛṣṇa takes formal leave of Śiva: the chapter's two great Persons part as one had pleaded and the other had ratified.
