  • sabhāyām — in the royal assembly
Locative of sabhā. The proper locus for clearing a public accusation. The Bhāgavatam respects civic process — Bhagavān could clear His name privately but submits to the sabhā's witness. Dharmic restoration is public.
  • rāja-sannidhau — in the presence of the King
Compound: rāja (king, Ugrasena) + sannidhi (presence). Kṛṣṇa makes Ugrasena the judging witness — even though the Lord is Ugrasena's protector, He defers to the office. Gauḍīya emphasis: He honours every legitimate dharmic authority even when He outranks it.
  • nyavedayat — presented
Causative of ni + √vid. The same verb used for offering the deity a gift in temple service. Kṛṣṇa presents the jewel to Satrājit with the formal grammar of nivedana — He is performing a kind of arcana on the offender.
Lord Kṛṣṇa summoned Satrājit to the royal assembly. There, in the presence of King Ugrasena, Kṛṣṇa announced the recovery of the jewel and then formally presented it to Satrājit.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Lord Kṛṣṇa summoned Satrājit to the royal assembly. There, in the presence of King Ugrasena, Kṛṣṇa announced the recovery of the jewel and then formally presented it to Satrājit.
Jīva Gosvāmī Gauḍīya
Commentary

With attention he summoned Satrājit, and in the presence of the king, Ugrasena, or all the kings, in order to dispel the false rumors and give joy to all people, he explained the events to all the citizens and even though he had previously requested it for Ugrasena, offered the jewel to Satrājit to show that he had not desire for it since as the Lord full of all powers and wealth (bhagavān), he had no interest in such things.

Related verses
Kṛṣṇa summons Satrājit to the royal assembly; in Ugrasena's presence He announces recovery of the jewel and formally presents it to Satrājit. Public restoration of misused property completes the cycle; the Lord doesn't keep the spoils of His investigation.
Reflection Questions
  • Where do you keep what was misused as if it were now yours?
  • How does public restoration complete healing in a community?

The Lord returns the jewel publicly, in the king's court, with Ugrasena watching. Bhakti has its forensic component — slander must be cleared not in private but in sabhā, so that the citizens' faith is restored along with the gem.
