  • akhila-dṛk — the seer of everything
Akhila (whole, complete) + dṛk (seer). Cf. SB 1.2.11 — the same tattva applied at intimate scale. Even the gopas' silent thoughts are inside Kṛṣṇa's vision. Antaryāmī-tattva functioning inside Vraja-rasa without compromising mādhurya.
  • svānām — of His own people
Genitive plural of sva. Echo of verse 3's svānām abhaya-daḥ. The same word that named the recipients of fearlessness now names the recipients of darśana of dhāma — the chapter's quiet through-line.
  • saṅkalpa-siddhaye — for the fulfillment of (their) imagined desire
Compound: saṅkalpa (intention, mental wish) + siddhi (accomplishment). Even unspoken bhakta-saṅkalpa is fulfilled. Gauḍīyas cite this against the notion that bhakti must verbalize requests — Bhagavān answers heart-shape, not prayer-text.
  • kṛpayā — out of compassion
Instrumental of kṛpā. Pure causeless mercy. The gopas' question is small; the answer is dhāma-darśana. Bhakti's mathematics: cause is small, effect is unbounded, because the variable is kṛpā.
  • acintayat — He thought
Imperfect of √cint. Bhagavān's interior deliberation. Gauḍīyas note: even Kṛṣṇa's thought (acintaya) precedes His giving — bhakti is His own free, considered gift, not a mechanical reward.
  • vijñāya — having understood
Absolutive of vi-√jñā. He understood without being told. The verse is a working portrait of antaryāmī-jñāna inside Vraja: the Lord knows His devotees' minds and answers in love.
Because He sees everything, Lord Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, automatically understood what the cowherd men were conjecturing. Wanting to show His compassion to them by fulfilling their desires, the Lord thought as follows.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Because He sees everything, Lord Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, automatically understood what the cowherd men were conjecturing. Wanting to show His compassion to them by fulfilling their desires, the Lord thought as follows.
Commentary

Thus understanding the desires of his relatives (svanam), Krsna who had knowledge of all realizations the happiness of Brahman, of Vaikuntha and Vraja bhumi (akhila drk), began to think in order to fulfill their desires. Though usually he covers or withdraws his majesty according to the degree of prema, in this case by the inspiration of the lila sakti, he had knowledge of all his forms simultaneously. Krsna thought, "Though these cowherd men actually understand that Brahman and Vaikuntha are insignificant because of tasting sweetness of Krsna prema, I will give them realization of Brahman and Vaikuntha happiness, in order to fulfil the desires they manifest while they play the roles of unintelligent humans."

Jīva Gosvāmī Gauḍīya
Commentary

Svānām means “of his relatives.” Śabda-smṛti says sva means relative or wealth. The verse shows Kṛṣṇa’s great affection for them. He was eager to fulfill all the desires of the people of Vraja. He understood but did not inform them directly since they would be embarrassed.

Śrīdhara Svāmī Gauḍīya
Commentary

He is eager to fulfill the desires of the people of Vraja (saḥ). Out of shame the people did not reveal their desire, but Kṛṣṇa understood by himself (svayam vijñāya) and thought as follows out of his mercy, like a child overcome with affection for his father, for actually he could not think of fulfilling their desires because they had unlimited wealth by their very nature already. Or he knew everything (aśeṣa-dṛk) about the people of Vraja (svānām) including their curiosity. Feeling this directly because of their great eagerness, since he is filled with all powers (bhagavān), he began to consider.

Seeing everything, Kṛṣṇa understands the cowherds' inner conjecture and wants to satisfy their desires by direct revelation. The Lord doesn't wait for questions — He reads the implicit wonder and prepares an answer.
Reflection Questions
  • Where might He already be preparing to satisfy a wonder I have not yet voiced?
  • What 'implicit wonder' could I bring to language so He has more to answer?

A loving host overhears, through the open kitchen door, his guests speculating about what kind of home he must have come from — and instead of letting them keep guessing, he simply opens the next door and shows them. Kṛṣṇa, akhila-dṛk, hears the gopas' inner wondering before it is even spoken, and chooses, in pure compassion, to answer not with a sentence but with His own dhāma.
