Because Yuvanāśva, the father of the baby, was blessed by the brāhmaṇas, he did not fall a victim to death. After this incident, he performed severe austerities and achieved perfection in that very spot.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Because Yuvanāśva, the father of the baby, was blessed by the brāhmaṇas, he did not fall a victim to death. After this incident, he performed severe austerities and achieved perfection in that very spot.
Blessings from genuinely qualified souls protect a person from premature death and lead them to perfection. Whom we are blessed by — not whom we boast about — quietly shapes our trajectory.
Reflection Questions
  • Whose blessings am I currently living under, consciously or unconsciously?
  • Am I cultivating relationships with persons whose blessings would actually be worth receiving?
