Translation
After standing up to receive Durvāsā Muni, King Ambarīṣa offered him a seat and paraphernalia of worship. Then, sitting at his feet, the King requested the sage to eat.
Ambarīṣa rises, offers a seat and worship, sits at Durvāsā's feet and invites him to eat. The devotee receives the difficult guest with elevated honors, treating him as worshippable regardless of mood.
Reflection Questions
  • Whom am I tempted to receive grudgingly that I should be receiving with full honor?
  • Where would 'sitting at the feet' transform my next difficult interaction?
