Mahārāja Ambarīṣa was a great devotee of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Vāsudeva, and of the saintly persons who are the Lord’s devotees. Because of this devotion, he thought of the entire universe as being as insignificant as a piece of stone.

Translation
He had the highest devotion for the Supreme Lord Vāsudeva and his devotees, because of which he considered the whole world to be as worthless as stone.
By that high prema, he considered the whole world to be like stone.

Personal Guidance
Out of love for Vāsudeva and His devotees, Ambarīṣa considered the entire universe worthless as stone. Higher rasa naturally devalues lesser pleasures; the cure for materialism is something sweeter.
Reflection Questions
- Have I tasted enough higher rasa that ordinary attractions actually start to feel like stone?
- What sweeter offering would I need to discover to lose interest in my current distractions?
