Translation
The son of Kṛtī was Uparicara Vasu, and among his sons, headed by Bṛhadratha, were Kuśāmba, Matsya, Pratyagra and Cedipa. All the sons of Uparicara Vasu became rulers of the Cedi state. The sons headed by Bṛhadratha are listed.
Uparicara Vasu's sons rule the Cedi state — Bṛhadratha, Kuśāmba, Matsya, Pratyagra, Cedipa. One ancestor can seed an entire ruling family across a region; the multiplication of influence often hides a single source.
Reflection Questions
  • Whose single ancestor in my own circle has unobtrusively shaped a wide influence?
  • Where could I become that quiet source for those who follow me?
