Translation
From Nariṣyanta (another son of Manu) came a son named Citrasena and from him a son named Ṛkṣa. From Ṛkṣa came Mīḍhvān, from Mīḍhvān came Pūrṇa, and from Pūrṇa came Indrasena.
Another branch — Nariṣyanta to Citrasena to Ṛkṣa — descends. Even names we will not remember mattered enough to be recorded. Every devoted life leaves a trace in the eternal record.
Reflection Questions
  • Whose name from my own family no one alive remembers — and what might I owe their memory?
  • How would I act if I knew an unseen record were being kept of even my obscure days?
