Translation
From Karūṣa, another son of Manu, came the Kārūṣa dynasty, a family of kṣatriyas. The Kārūṣa kṣatriyas, ruling the northern direction, were protectors of brahminical culture and were all firmly religious.
Karūṣa's descendants ruled the north and protected brahminical culture. Power exists to defend, not exploit, those who hold spiritual knowledge.
Reflection Questions
  • How is the power I hold — money, influence, expertise — protecting those who carry deeper culture?
  • Where is my position quietly serving my own comfort instead of guarding what is sacred?
