Jamadagni, the son of Satyavatī, was very much pleased with Paraśurāma and asked him to take any benediction he liked. Lord Paraśurāma replied, “Let my mother and brothers live again and not remember having been killed by me. This is the benediction I ask.”

Translation
Jamadagni, the son of Satyavatī, pleased with Paraśurāma, asked him to take any benediction he liked. Lord Paraśurāma replied, "Let my mother and brothers live again and not remember having been killed."
Please ask for a boon. “Let those who have died come to life and not remember that I had killed them.”

Personal Guidance
Offered any boon, Paraśurāma asks that his mother and brothers be revived without memory of the killing. The truest filial love uses benediction to undo harm done in obedience.
Reflection Questions
- What benediction in my life have I spent on myself instead of repairing what duty required?
- Where could I quietly remove someone's painful memory by my own intercession?
