When the elder Madhucchandās were cursed, the younger fifty, along with Madhucchandā himself, approached their father and agreed to accept his proposal. “Dear father,” they said, “we shall abide by whatever arrangement you like.”

Translation
Then along with the younger fifty sons, Madhucchandā said, "Dear father, we shall accept whatever arrangement you like."
The middle son Madhucchandā, along with the fifty younger sons, then spoke clearly (ha). “What you, our father, consider him to be, either oldest or youngest, we accept.’

Personal Guidance
The younger fifty immediately agree: 'We shall abide by whatever arrangement you like.' Sometimes the second half of a family carries the obedience the first half refused.
Reflection Questions
- Where in my family is the obedience that the older generation refused now being asked of the younger?
- Which half of the response am I usually in — the curse-receiving or the blessing-receiving half?
