Taking up his fierce chopper, his shield, his bow and a quiver of arrows, Lord Paraśurāma, exceedingly angry, chased Kārtavīryārjuna just as a lion chases an elephant.

Gauḍīya
Translation
Taking up his fierce axe, his shield, his bow and a quiver of arrows, Paraśurāma, unable to tolerate this, chased Kārtavīryārjuna just as a lion chases an elephant.
Personal Guidance
Armed with chopper, shield, bow, and arrows, Paraśurāma chases Kārtavīryārjuna 'like a lion chasing an elephant.' Right anger, fully armed, is decisive — there is nothing tentative about it.
Reflection Questions
- Where have I confused tentativeness with virtue when the situation called for decisive armed pursuit?
- What wrong, if I were Paraśurāma, would I be expected to chase rather than discuss?
