Śukadeva Gosvāmī continued: By Bṛhaspati’s order, Tārā, who was very much ashamed, immediately gave birth to the child, who was very beautiful, with a golden bodily hue. Both Bṛhaspati and the moon-god, Soma, desired the beautiful child.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
By Bṛhaspati's order, Tārā, who was ashamed, gave birth to the child with a golden bodily hue. Both Bṛhaspati and the moon-god desired the child.
Both Bṛhaspati and Soma want the beautiful golden child. Children of disputed parentage become objects of competing claims — and the truth has not yet been spoken.
Reflection Questions
  • Whose welfare is currently the object of competing claims in my circle, and is the truth being spoken?
  • Where am I asserting ownership of an outcome I should let the truth decide?
