Śrīla Śukadeva Gosvāmī said to Mahārāja Parīkṣit: O King, thus far you have heard the description of the dynasty of the sun-god. Now hear the most glorious and purifying description of the dynasty of the moon-god. This description mentions kings like Aila [Purūravā] of whom it is glorious to hear.

Translation
Śukadeva Gosvāmī: O King, thus far you have heard the description of the dynasty of the sun-god. Now hear the purifying description of the dynasty of the moon-god, in which famous kings like Aila (Purūravā) are glorified. The Fourteenth Chapter describes how Budha (Mercury) was born by the Moon in Tārā, the wife of his guru Bṛhaspati (Jupiter), and how his son Aila produced six sons in Urvaśī.
Śukadeva pivots from the Sūrya dynasty to the Soma dynasty — both 'most glorious and purifying.' Different lineages of devotional history both purify; we don't need to choose which great river to honor.
Reflection Questions
  • Where am I unnecessarily ranking two equally valid spiritual streams against each other?
  • Whose lineage am I overlooking because I have already adopted another?
