“I shall return here after finishing the yajña for Indra. Kindly wait for me until then.” Mahārāja Nimi remained silent, and Vasiṣṭha began to perform the sacrifice for Lord Indra.

Translation
He said, "I shall return here after finishing the sacrifice for Indra. Kindly wait for me until then." Mahārāja Nimi remained silent and Vasiṣṭha performed the sacrifice for Lord Indra.
Pratipālaya means “wait for me.” Gṛha-patiḥ refers to King Nimi.
Personal Guidance
Vasiṣṭha asks Nimi to wait until the Indra yajṣa is finished; Nimi remains silent. Silence is not always assent — it can be the polite cover for a different plan we have not yet voiced.
Reflection Questions
- When did my silence last cover a disagreement I should have spoken aloud?
- Whose 'silent agreement' am I trusting that may, in truth, be polite dissent?
