O lord, you are the original source of Vedic literature. You are the original cause of material creation, the life force, the senses, the five elements, the three modes and the mahat-tattva. You are eternal time, determination and the two religious systems called truth [satya] and truthfulness [ṛta]. You are the shelter of the syllable om, which consists of three letters a-u-m.

Translation
You are the collection of all syllables, the origin of the universe, ahaṅkāra, the prāṇas, the senses the elements, the three guṇas, svabhāva, [Note: Svabhāva is the cause of transformation.] time, determination, truth, pleasing words, and dharma. The wise determine that you are the syllable oṁ.
This verse praises the Lord as the ultimate expression of all words. You are collection of all syllables. You are the prānaṣ, senses, elements starting with earth and the three guṇas. The wise say that oṁ is in you. They determine that oṁ (trivṛd-akṣaram) represents you.

Personal Guidance
He is the source of the Vedas, the senses, the elements, the modes, time itself, and the syllable om. Everything we use to understand reality is already His. The very tools of inquiry are His gifts before we begin.
Reflection Questions
- What 'tool' of mine — intellect, senses, sense of time — am I treating as my own achievement?
- How does seeing all means as belonging to the Lord change how I use them today?
