Śukadeva Gosvāmī continued: When the Lord was thus offered prayers by the demigods, headed by Lord Brahmā, He understood the purpose for which they had approached Him. Therefore, in a deep voice that resembled the rumbling of clouds, the Lord replied to the demigods, who all stood there attentively with folded hands.

Translation
Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: When he was thus offered prayers by the devatās headed by Lord Brahmā, the Lord, understanding their hearts, in a deep voice that resembled the rumbling of clouds, replied to the devatās who all stood there attentively with folded hands.
The Lord understood that they were requesting that the he give them a method for regaining Svarga. Saṁvṛta-sarvakārakān means “all their senses were controlled.”

Personal Guidance
Without being told, the Lord understood what the demigods needed, and answered in a deep, thunderous voice. The Lord responds to the unspoken need behind our words. We need not perfect our request; we need only stand attentively before Him.
Reflection Questions
- What is the unspoken request behind my recent prayers that I have not even admitted to myself?
- Am I attentive enough to recognize the Lord's reply when it comes in unexpected form?
