As far as the sun and moon shine with the stars and as far as the clouds pour rain, all the land throughout the universe is in your possession.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
As far as the sun shines with its rays and as far as moon shines along with the stars and as far as the clouds pour rain, all the land throughout the universe is in your possession. Asau means the sun.
As far as sun, moon, and stars shine, and as far as clouds rain, all is in your possession. The Lord names the breadth of what Bali claimed. He does not minimize the gift; He acknowledges its scale.
Reflection Questions
  • Has the Lord acknowledged the scale of my offering — or have I downplayed it?
  • Where do I rush past honoring the size of someone's gift to me?
