Translation
O King! The angry demons, taking their lances and tridents in hand, rushed to kill Vāmana, against the will of Bali Mahārāja.
Aggravated by anger, the demons took lances and tridents and against Bali's will rushed to kill Vāmana. The followers act against their master's clear wish. Anger overrides obedience as easily as it overrides discernment.
Reflection Questions
  • When have I acted against a teacher's clear wish because my anger told me to?
  • Whose 'will' am I disobeying right now in the name of defending them?
