The city was shaded by canopies decorated with pearls, and the domes of the palaces had flags of pearl and gold. The city always resounded with the vibrations of peacocks, pigeons and bees, and above the city flew airplanes full of beautiful women who constantly chanted auspicious songs that were very pleasing to the ear.

Translation
The city was shaded by canopies decorated with pearls and the turrets of the palaces had flags of jewels and gold. The city always resounded with the vibrations of peacocks, pigeons and bees, and above the city flew airplanes full of beautiful women who chanted auspicious songs. The city was covered with turrets having flags and banners made of jewels and gold, and with canopies made of pearls.
Pearl-decorated canopies, palace domes with pearl-and-gold flags, peacocks and pigeons, women in airplanes singing auspicious songs. Heavenly aesthetics are layered — color, sound, movement, song.
Reflection Questions
  • Where in my life do I keep aesthetics flat — only one or two senses engaged — when scripture shows layered beauty?
  • What auspicious song could I add as background to my ordinary activity?
