Translation
In the gardens there were ponds full of swans, cranes, cakravākas and ducks, in which the devatās’ women played.
In the gardens (yatra) there were ponds where women played.
Personal Guidance
Beautiful women protected by the demigods sported in lotus ponds with swans and cakravākas. Even the highest heavens have their distinct sensory pleasures. Pleasure is not anti-spiritual when it exists in dharmic context.
Reflection Questions
- Where have I become suspicious of all pleasure rather than discerning dharmic from adharmic enjoyment?
- What 'protected pleasure' in my life can I enjoy fully without guilt?
