The Supreme Personality of Godhead welcomed Lord Śiva and Umā with great respect, and after being seated comfortably, Lord Śiva duly worshiped the Lord and smilingly spoke as follows.

Gauḍīya
Translation
Welcomed by the Lord with respect, Śiva and Umā were seated comfortably. Śiva worshiped the Lord in return and while smiling spoke as follows.
Personal Guidance
The Lord welcomed Śiva and Umā with respect; Śiva worshiped Him and smilingly spoke. Even the highest demigod offers proper worship before making a request. Smiling reverence is the right approach for asking large favors.
Reflection Questions
- Do I worship before asking, or rush to my request?
- Where could a smile of confidence transform a fearful request into a relational one?
