After hearing these words of devotional service from the mouth of his son Prahlāda, Hiraṇyakaśipu was extremely angry. His lips trembling, he spoke as follows to Ṣaṇḍa, the son of his guru, Śukrācārya.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Hearing these words from his son, Hiraṇyakaśipu, his lips trembling, spoke angrily to the son of Śukrācārya.
Hearing devotional service from his son's mouth, Hiraṇyakaśipu's lips tremble with rage and he turns on Ṣaṇḍa. Anger looks for someone to blame when the truth lands too directly. Watch where your fury redirects when truth strikes home.
Reflection Questions
  • When truth lands hard, whom do you blame to deflect the blow?
  • What truth in your life would land so directly that it would expose this redirection pattern?
