Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 7.3.4

तस्य मूर्ध्न: समुद्भ‍ूत: सधूमोऽग्निस्तपोमय: । तीर्यगूर्ध्वमधोलोकान् प्रातपद्विष्वगीरित: ॥ ४ ॥

tasya mūrdhnaḥ samudbhūtaḥ

Because of Hiraṇyakaśipu’s severe austerities, fire came from his head, and this fire and its smoke spread throughout the sky, encompassing the upper and lower planets, which all became extremely hot.

Translation

Because of Hiraṇyakaśipu's severe austerities, fire and smoke emanated from his head, and, spreading up, down, sideways, and all around, heated up all the planets.

Personal Guidance

Fire and smoke from his head spread through the sky, heating upper and lower worlds. Severe tapas, even when demonic, has cosmic side effects. Our inner state is never private — it leaks into the worlds around us.
