Pierced by the arrows of Lord Rāmacandra, both Kumbhakarṇa and Rāvaṇa lay on the ground and left their bodies, fully absorbed in thought of the Lord, just as they had in their previous births as Hiraṇyākṣa and Hiraṇyakaśipu.

Gauḍīya
Translation
Pierced by the arrows of Rāmacandra, both Kumbhakarṇa and Rāvaṇa lay on the ground and left their bodies, thinking of Rāma, just as they had in their previous births as Hiraṇyākṣa and Hiraṇyakaśipu.
Personal Guidance
Pierced by Rāma's arrows, both left their bodies absorbed in thought of the Lord — just as in their previous lives. Sustained absorption in the Lord, even hostile, follows the soul across deaths. The mind at the time of death is shaped by lifetimes of orientation.
Reflection Questions
- Toward what is your mind most reliably oriented at moments of pressure?
- What lifetime-level practice could shape the mind at the final moment?
