Śrī Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: After hearing the request of Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira, Nārada Muni, the most powerful spiritual master, who knew everything, was very pleased. Thus he replied in the presence of everyone taking part in the yajña.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: After hearing the request of Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira, Nārada Muni, the most powerful sage, being pleased, addressing the King, then replied while the assembly listened to the discussion. Śṛṇvatyās tat-sadaḥ kathāḥ means “while the assembly listened to the talk.” Ābhāsya means “calling to the king.” O King! Please understand this.
Nārada is pleased by the question and answers in the open assembly, not privately. Honest spiritual questions are gifts to everyone present, not just the asker. Don't hoard your doubts in shame — voicing them often serves the whole community.
Reflection Questions
  • What question are you holding back that could help others if voiced?
  • How can you create spaces where others feel safe to ask aloud?
