The subtle and gross cosmic manifestation is material, but nevertheless it is nondifferent from the Supreme Personality of Godhead because He is ultimately the cause of all causes. Cause and effect are factually one because the cause is present in the effect. Therefore the Absolute Truth, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, can destroy all our dangers by any of His potent parts.

Translation
May the Lord who is actually all the universe destroy all of our misfortunes by that truth!
The Lord is actually this universe made of cause and effect (sad-asat), because it arises from his external energy, his śakti. By that vow, may all our misfortunes be destroyed! This means “If the Lord is actually the universe, our misfortunes will certainly be destroyed.” This is similar to saying “If the Vedas are proof, then certainly it will happen.”

Personal Guidance
Subtle and gross cosmic manifestation is material yet nondifferent from the Lord, because He is the cause of all causes and effects equal their cause. The shield rests on a tight ontological reasoning.
Reflection Questions
- Do I really believe that the gross world is nondifferent from Kṛṣṇa?
- How would that conviction change my response to everyday material events?
