O King.
After hearing from the mouth of their master about the extraordinary glories of the Lord and His name, fame and attributes, the Yamadūtas were struck with wonder. Since then, as soon as they see a devotee, they fear him and dare not look at him again.
Purport
Since this incident, the Yamadūtas have given up the dangerous behavior of approaching devotees. For the Yamadūtas, a devotee is dangerous.

Translation
O King! Remembering the extraordinary glories of the Lord told by their master, the hesitant Yamadūtas, struck with wonder, do not approach the devotees and fear even seeing them from that time.
To the phrase naivācyutāśraya-janaṁ the verb gacchanti should be added: “they do not approach the devotees.” Another version has tena acyutāśraya-janam: they became astonished by hearing the glories of the Lord, and fear even seeing his devotees.

Personal Guidance
Hearing their master's words about the Lord's glories, the Yamadūtas were astonished, and since then fear devotees and won't even look at them. The right teaching rewires even severe servants of justice.
Reflection Questions
- Whom have I been treating harshly that I should approach with reverence instead?
- What teaching, properly received, would rewire my reflexes?
