Because you died untimely, the balance of your lifetime still remains. Therefore you may reenter your body and enjoy the remainder of your life, surrounded by your friends and relatives. Accept the royal throne and all the opulences given by your father.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Reenter your body and enjoy the remainder of your life, surrounded by your friends and relatives. Accept the royal throne and all the enjoyments given by your father. Because you did not die at the proper time you have the remainder of your life to live. Nārada is fooling the King. Actually he did not have a remainder to live, since this body was illusory. Pitṛ-prattān means “given by the father.”
Because you died untimely, balance of life remains — reenter the body and enjoy the throne and royal opulence. The sage offers a literal reversal as a teaching device.

  • If offered to return to a life I had let go, would I take it back?
  • What does my answer reveal about how much I am identified with the role?
