Translation
Thereafter, in due course of time, a son was born to the King. Hearing news of this, all the inhabitants of the state of Śūrasena were extremely pleased.
Personal Guidance
In due time a son was born; everyone in Śūrasena rejoiced. Long-awaited fruits often produce communal celebration, not private satisfaction.
Reflection Questions
- Whose long-awaited fruit have I celebrated lately?
- Do I let communal joy in, or hoard my own?
