Just as the false ego creates the subtle sense objects, Mahārāja Bharata created five sons in the womb of Pañcajanī, his wife. These sons were named Sumati, Rāṣṭrabhṛta, Sudarśana, Āvaraṇa and Dhūmraketu.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Just as the false ego creates the subtle sense objects, Mahārāja Bharata created five sons in the womb of Pañcajanī, his wife: Sumati, Rāṣṭrabhṛta, Sudarśana, Āvaraṇa and Dhūmraketu. Bhūtādiḥ means ahaṅkāra.
Children born of pure devotional parents carry their parents' consciousness into the next generation. What we transmit through the act of bringing forth life is as formative as anything we do later.
Reflection Questions
  • What consciousness did you carry in the most generative seasons of your life, and what did that bring forth?
  • What inner state are you in now as you create — projects, relationships, art — and how is it shaping the result?
