O King, longevity, sensory prowess, physical and mental strength, intelligence and bravery are naturally and equally manifested in all the inhabitants of the five islands headed by Plakṣadvīpa.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Longevity, sensory prowess, physical and mental strength, intelligence and bravery are naturally and equally manifested in all the inhabitants of the five islands headed by Plakṣadvīpa.
On those islands, longevity, strength, intelligence, and bravery are naturally equal in all the inhabitants. Where the modes of nature are favorable, qualities are evenly distributed; in our world, inequalities are a feature of harder soil. Don't blame yourself for the difficulty of where you are; here, things are harder by design.
Reflection Questions
  • Where have I judged myself or others for limitations that actually belong to the conditions, not the person?
  • What would self-compassion look like in light of how challenging this particular planetary system is?
