My dear Lord Vidura, when the great sages observed the wonderful prowess of the son of King Pṛthu, they all agreed to give him the name Vijitāśva.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
O Vidura! The great sages, seeing the son’s astounding action, gave him the name Vijitāśva, he who had won the horse. The sages gave the son (tasmai) a name. It should be understood that the same son was taught the art of disappearing, according to later statements (SB 4.24.3).
The sages named him Vijitāśva — 'horse-conqueror.' Right action under instruction earns you a name that becomes your identity.
