The master of the treasury, Kuvera, said: O sinless son of a kṣatriya, I am very glad to know that under the instruction of your grandfather you have given up your enmity, although it is very difficult to avoid. I am very pleased with you.
Gauḍīya Ācāryas
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura
Gauḍīya
Translation
O son of a warrior! Sinless one! I am pleased with you because you have given up hatred, difficult to give up, on the instruction of your grandfather.
Personal Guidance
Kuvera is glad: under your grandfather's instruction you've given up an enmity that was very hard to avoid. The capacity to abandon a grievance is rarer than the capacity to nurse one; recognize it where you see it.
Reflection Questions
- Whose hard-to-release grievance have I successfully set down — and have I honored that act in myself?
- Where do I dismiss the work of giving up enmity as easier than it really is?
