When the great sages heard that Dhruva Mahārāja was overpowered by the illusory mystic tricks of the demons, they immediately assembled to offer him auspicious encouragement.

Translation
Hearing that the Yakṣas had cast their magic, difficult to overcome, upon Dhruva, the sages arrived and prayed for his well being.
Hearing of Dhruva's perplexity, the sages immediately assemble to encourage him. When a devotee is overwhelmed, the lineage often dispatches a delegation; you are not as alone as you feel.
Reflection Questions
  • Whose presence has shown up uninvited in my hard moments — and have I recognized them as a delegation?
  • Where am I overdue to assemble for someone who is currently overwhelmed?
