[Maitreya said:] O Vidura, thus the demigods worshiped with prayers the Supreme Personality of Godhead appearing as the sage Nara-Nārāyaṇa. The Lord glanced upon them with mercy and then departed for Gandhamādana Hill.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
O Vidura! The Supreme Lords Nara-Nārāyaṇa, thus worshipped and praised by the devatās who had received their glance, departed for Gandhamādana Hill. They were worshipped by the devatās who had received mercy (avalokaiḥ).
The Lord glanced mercifully and then departed for Gandhamādana — divine attention comes and goes by His will, not our schedule. Receive the glance gratefully when it comes; release the Lord to His next service.
Reflection Questions
  • Do I demand sustained divine attention, or receive what comes with gratitude?
  • Can I release the Lord to His other work without feeling abandoned?
