अक्षिणी चक्षुषादित्यो नोदतिष्ठत्तदा विराट् ।
श्रोत्रेण कर्णौ च दिशो नोदतिष्ठत्तदा विराट् ॥ ६४ ॥

The sun-god entered the eyes of the virāṭ-puruṣa with the sense of sight, but still the virāṭ-puruṣa did not get up. Similarly, the predominating deities of the directions entered through His ears with the sense of hearing, but still He did not get up.

Translation
The sun devatā long with the eyes entered into the eyeballs but the form did not arise. The direction devatās along with the ears entered the gross ears, but the universal form did not arise.
Personal Guidance
The sun enters with sight, the deities of directions with hearing, but the Cosmic Being still doesn't get up. Even refined senses like sight and hearing don't, by themselves, wake the soul. Sensory richness is not the same as spiritual awakening.
