Satisfied by his wife, he enjoyed in that aerial mansion not only on Mount Meru but in different gardens known as Vaiśrambhaka, Surasana, Nandana, Puṣpabhadraka and Caitrarathya, and by the Mānasa-sarovara Lake.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Pleased with his wife, he enjoyed in Vaiśrambhaka, Surasana, Nandana, Puṣpabhadraka, Mānasa Sarovara and Caitrarathya. These are gardens of the devatās. Mānasa means Mānasa-sarovara.
The couple, satisfied with each other, enjoyed not only Mount Meru but multiple gardens and a lake. Mutual satisfaction enables broader enjoyment of creation. Restless dissatisfaction shrinks our world; contentment widens it.
Reflection Questions
  • What 'gardens' in my world am I unable to enjoy because of dissatisfaction in close relationships?
  • How might mutual contentment expand my available world?
